This weekend I took my first course of personal development and leadership skills in the city of Cobija, the capital is Pando, northern Bolivia, in its Amazon region.
The course was developed under two very interesting, the first is that within the students were people of different areas of work and background, giving the experience an air of cultural interest, the second is that rather than seeking the participation of some of them, I could not get cast their opinions on most issues of personal development, to which the question arises I will be the focus of the agenda too personal? participants are limited to work and share their ideas. Well, the base of course is that, to get people involved consolidating a life plan in accordance approach to leadership, taking into account various aspects of your life.
The result of the first part of the course was very interesting, since some of them told me they had never thought of life under this approach and it seemed a very good methodology to take into account future. My goal in this module has always been to allow the participants a seed of strategic planning for their lives, so they are the ones who really take care to water it, improve it and get fruit in their future careers as leaders.

The second stage of the process is teamwork, which allows participants to understand how they should face some real life situations and under conditions of limited time. In this exercise, the result is very interesting, because in the traditional is faced with a task that could be consolidated in the allotted time, then the reflection is what were the reasons why the goal was not achieved. It is usually related to the appropriate distribution of work and the real interpretation of what is intended in the task. For this specific case, most groups start work as a race to the crazy, regardless of the actual size of what was required and halfway through they realized that more than running could not achieve the objective, having to stop and reorganize their work.
learning from this exercise has to do with the proper identification of the role of leaders in a specific condition, which has imponderable variables as the magnitude of the task, which is manageable at first, but once you work, the subjects to develop acquired a dimension that requires a paradigm shift of work and proper criteria for achieving consensus an acceptable outcome for group members. Done
analysis exercise, the students left with a smile on their faces, as they are reflected weaknesses in an apparently very simple job, but to demand an initial analysis of dimensions and define a suitable framework to achieve the result, which ultimately is the real function of a leader in any field.
